While I understand your point I feel that someone is far more likely to be affected by fragmented files than the chance of scrambling their boot loader during a defrag. I'm basing mine off of a thousand or so successful defrags. Your basing your opinion of one bad incident.

Percentage wise your far more likely to corrupt a file from improper system shut down or a BSOD from something like a PACE driver error.Ībout the only way I'm aware of defragging going wrong would be if you had a power drop out while copying a file. Not really, you had something unusual happen.
